So I won’t lie to you all, I am thinking about ways to generate more traffic to my RSS Feed. I have been thinking of ways to create returning readers and commentators. So something came to mind. I just rebuilt my PC. I was sitting here looking around the room and it caught my eye, every piece of hardware that I just removed from my PC (all still good and running great) sitting there waiting to be put back into action.
So here is what I am thinking. I can 1) rebuild a new PC with those parts, 2) sell the parts individually or together, or 3) I can have some sort of contest on my blog(s) to giveaway each piece of equipment. Here is the list of parts below:
- Motherboard: ASUS A8n-SLi Premium
- CPU: AMD Athlon X2 4800+
- Graphics Card: Evga 7800 GTX KO
- Power Supply: Ultra Xfinity 600 Watt
- RAM: 2.5 GB or Corsair DDR w/ heat spreaders
Total value of the whole package is approximately $903.00 retail cost brand new. Each piece was used for approximately 1 year and never overclocked. The package together ran Crysis on mid settings smoothly on Windows XP Pro. Otherwise I will base my decisions on what to do with this stuff on the comments you all leave on the site. So its up to you to tell me which of the 3 choices I should make. I look forward to hearing your opinions.

There are a lot of blogs out there relate to what we write here on Hardware Blog Portal. I am looking to for any of those fellow bloggers that are willing to guest blog here on Hardware Blog Portal. Eventually the goal is to create our own little blogging community that does podcasts and maybe even a webcam video or two. After reading a recent post written by Jeff Bertolucci of PCWorld.com, I began to wonder, how does buying online compare to going to the actual store down the street. In my opinion if you truly understand the details and specs of what you are buying online, then that may be the better route. However buying in the store is safer than sending your credit card number across the internet.
As quoted in Jeff’s article, “Best Places to Buy Tech Products–Now and Post-Holidays”,
“Between August 2006 and the same month a year later, 14 percent of the $159 billion that U.S. shoppers spent on consumer electronics was spent online, up from 5 percent a year earlier, according to the Consumer Electronics Association.”
So what I am trying to figure out is how you all feel about the two different situations. I am going to start a new thread on HBPForums.com, and I invite you all to come by and leave us your opinion. And as always, please leave a comment on this post.
