Clan Review #2: Battlefieldbs.com

Here it is everyone, Clan Review #2. I spent the last week and a half monitoring a few different Battlefield Clans, and BattlefieldBs.com really stood out. They have one of the best gaming environments I have seen in a long while. Definitely worth a look. So what I have done was interviewed the clan leader, Gen.Bs, and posted the interview here for you all to read. Below the questions, I let Gen.Bs tell us all a little more in depth facts about the clan. Its a great post and I want to thank Gen.Bs and the rest of the BattlefieldBs clan for their cooperation.

Interview

How long has your clan been around? 4 years

How is the clan setup? Are there Divisions, Squads, Teams, etc…? We call them battle groups which are named Viper and Reaper

How serious are you about Leagues? i.e TWL, CAL…. If so what is your rank in each? We are in TWL and we are on rung 112 and our record is 6/2

How many members do you have? 47 active as in they report in and play on the server continuous basis

Is there a Ranking scale in the clan? We do have a ranking scale in the clan, it is modeled after our military.

Are you planning to remain a BF2 clan or are you moving over to 2142 full time? Believe it or not. We do have a group of members who play 2142 but not that many. BF2 vanilla has captured the attention of most of our members. That is where you can find us most of the time.

How long did it take for you to become a justified clan? We have been around for 4 years and it took about 2 years for us to gain a proper ground in the BF2 community. I can say this because people started wanting to do reviews of our clan and mod groups such as Department Store Battle and EOD wanted to have us as beta testers. Our server numbers say it all. People like our rules although we do have a lot.

Are there any upcoming events in the near future, for the clan? Nope we just play and have fun.

We formed 4 years ago, Godfather was in a clan called (-BG-) Brothers Grimm. I had just purchased Battlefield Vietnam and was looking for servers to play on when I found the (-BG-) Server. I then joined that clan and GF (Godfather) and I became friends.

Later we found that the clan wasn’t going anywhere and we decided to start our own clan and run it in a fashion where we found it to be enjoyable. We then created (-BS-), it was a poor clan we had no Ventrilo and our server was running off GF’s home connection. And our Ventrilo was running off a server at my house, can you say LAG CITY !!

As clan (-BS-) started growing back in the BFV (Battlefield Vietnam) days we acquired a few members to this day who are still with us. That would be John The Destroyer and a player I call Zuccini who’s name is Zach (he is no longer in the clan but I keep in contact with him). Our server has quite a few rules such as NO BUNNY HOPPING, DOLPHIN DIVING, NO ATTACKING UNCAPS, NO SPAWN RAPING. As crazy as it seems, you see TONS of rules but people like that. They want to come to a server where you can have clean fun without the amount of smacktards you find on other servers. We have a staff of 17 admins, we can be reached on XFIRE and I even provide my phone number to some of our regulars to ensure they my server remains smacktard free.

Clan (-BS-) now has 5 servers running, a Ventrilo server which is private but donators are given access and priority slotting on our gaming servers. Our joining process into the clan is about a month process. We want the clan to get to know these members who want to join. We have an interview process with them. We believe in weeding out smacktards. This process filters out the people who are not serious about being in our clan. We are a mature clan who are 17 + and over, although we do have some underage members in the clan. Racism is NOT TOLERATED in our clan. And CHEATERS get BANNED for life.

Some admins are more relaxed than others. In regards to in game infraction such as violations (bunny hopping, spawn raping ect.) My warn button is broken, I believe that if you CANT follow the server rules that scroll the screen or the ones that are on the loading screen I don’t want you here on our servers. Many players come from all over to play on our servers, they like the rules!! In fact I am watching while my admin shift and see other players (non members) tell people to follow the servers rules.
