According to AnandTech.com, Asus, a third party manufacturing company has given information about nVidia’s new 790i chipset. Its apparently due out in March. The picture above is taken from AnandTech.com, showing the new ASUS Striker II Extreme board that has the new chipset. This board will have official support for 1600FSB processors and DDR3.
“The 790i chipset does away with the bridge chipset utilized on the 780i to provide PCI Express 2.0 capability. Overclocking with an early BIOS spin is also showing improvements over the 780i, especially with Yorkfield and Wolfdale processors.” - - AnandTech.com
